This is a massive work in progress. I have long dreamed of hiking each trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are around 800 miles of trails in the park, but in order to hike them all, it takes over 1,000 miles due to many out-and-backs and places where doing a stretch twice is required. When a person hikes them all, they are called a 900-miler.
Here are the pieces I have done so far. (For this list, an expedition is several nights out. A hike is simply a dayhike.)
Expedition 1: Appalachian Trail, 2010
Hike 1: Noland Divide Trail, 2012
Expedition 2: Benton MacKaye Trail, 2012
Expedition 3: Fontana Dam to Bone Valley, Jenkins Ridge, Cades Cove, Gatlinburg, Huskey Gap, Little River and Elkmont, 2022
